MADCAT TOURING FESTIVAL

MadCat is a highly acclaimed festival that exhibits independent and experimental films and videos directed by women from around the globe. The Festival emphasizes work that is inventive and visionary. MadCat takes place each September in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is an exciting year of change at MadCat. We are transforming from an annual event to an expanded seasonal touring Festival. As always we will continue to seek out and show the best avant-garde work by women directors everywhere. The 2009 touring Festival will offer all our wonderful programs to more venues across the country. The new schedule for the open call for submissions is now exclusively for touring works, which will be selected by May 1, 2009, for a national tour to begin in the fall of 2009. The expanded tour will reach audiences at venues around the country. Past venues include: Anthology Film Archives, Brown University, Harn Museum of Art, Harvard Film Archive, PRATT, the RISD Museum of Art, and University of Michigan, among others.
